I have the same problem. Prose has always been much harder for me than poetry, and I'm not sure why. Every single decent short story I've written came out of a long process as part of a creative writing class in high school, whereas poetry I can just sit down and write, provided I have inspiration (something to write about). I think you have it in you, you just maybe need somebody or something driving you. From what I've read, I don't you're a quitter64 (almost 65) days w/o cutting, you're letting yourself become attatched to someone, and I agree, you write excellent poetry. Moreover, you acknowledge your weaknesses and struggle against them, and set goals for yourself (patience, for example). You sound more a fighter than a quitter to me.
